Experiment and Step Out

This has got to be one of my favorite outfits to date! :) Don't you just love it when two different pieces from your closet match perfectly when worn together?

As soon as I received this polka dot dress from Orange Tag, I immediately imagined myself wearing it with a polka dot blazer. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find one that suited my fancy. But instead of feeling frustrated, I decided to experiment and step out of my comfort zone. I paired the dress with a floral blazer! :)

Never really thought that they'll go well together until I saw myself in the mirror! Ayos din pala! :) I fell so much in love with this unexpected combination!

On me: peplum polka dot dress courtesy of Orange Tag | floral blazer (no tag in the package, please email me if you sent this so I can credit properly. Thanks!!)

I think the Orange Tag team knew that I have an on-going relationship with peplums! Yes guys, can't get over the trend ‘til now! Haha! Thank you for this, Model!

"INSPIRE" wire art from Anagon Collection. Thank you so much to my blog sister, Ana, for this!! Check out her shop to see the other designs, and more details if you want to have yours customized.

Freeway x Botong Francisco

Freeway's Holiday 2012 Collection of National Artist Collectors' series pays tribute to Carlos "Botong" V. Francisco, a greatly renowned muralist in the Philippines. Botong was the second Filipino to receive the title of National Artist in Painting, after Fernando C. Amorsolo, and also one of the first Filipino modernists who revolutionized art and romanticism of Philippine scenes. This collaboration collection also marks the 100th Grand Anniversary of Botong's life who was born in 1912.

The Freeway x Botong launch night happened last October 18 at The Row, Glorietta. Michael Blanco's Academy of Artists had an art exhibition there, with young talented artists at work (from 6 to 12 years old) who are all from Botong's hometown province of Angono, Rizal. Scrumptious cocktails were served during the event, too.

Ms. Cherie Gil hosted the event. After a short video presentation of Botong's life and works, a fashion show took place showcasing the 25 gorgeous pieces - from graphic tees, work shirts, tailored dresses, casual tops, weekend wear, etc. - inspired by the National Artist's original paintings.

Amazing how they transformed Botong's paintings in to a wearable art! Don't you just love this collection?

Cherie Gil interviewed special guests Ino Manalo (Executive Director of the National Archives) and Carlos "Totong" Francisco II (Grandson of Botong Francisco) and both of them shared interesting stories about the National Artist. They also mentioned about how Botong intensely influenced the art and culture of the Philippines.

A passionate lover of art and fashion, former governor of Tarlac, Margarita "Tingting" Cojuangco, was also present during the interview. I love her for being so classy and beautiful! :)

Here are the kids of Michael Blanco's Academy of Artists! I got so stunned with their sketches and paintings! Amazing talents!! ♥

Before concluding the event, they cited the series of events and celebrations that will happen throughout the year for Botong's 100th anniversary. You can view the schedule here.

Thank you so much to Ms. Dian and the Freeway team for having us again! :)

Superb Bazaar + Thank You's

If you've been following my blog since day 1, you'll know that I love going to bazaars. Aside from purchasing fashionable items for prices that are way too low and affordable, I also get the chance to bond with friends plus meet some Raid My Closet sponsors (and thank them personally for always being so generous).

Last Friday, I went to the Superb by Super Sale Bazaar with my Mom at the World Trade Center. I wasn't able to take too much photos around the venue because we were busy shopping. You have no idea how hard it was to choose from the wide range selection of gorgeous clothes!! Not to mention, the place was jam-packed, too.

Passed by Habi Footwear's booth and I'm glad that I was finally able to meet the lovely owners of the brand! I've always loved Habi's collections - they're very comfortable, fashionable and eco-friendly! Habi actually started as a project. They saw its potential and so they decided to continue it. I'm really glad they did, because I admire their advocacy of keeping the mothers of Kawan in Sto. Nino Community involved as they aim for a better future by making use of recycled materials (like woven cloth and truck tires) for their products.

Here are some of my favorite pairs from Habi Footwear.

They're all so pretty, right?? :)

With Ms. Janine, one of the owners of Habi Footwear. Thank you so much for the shoes!! :) I'm proud to own a Habi pair!

My bazaar visits won't be complete without bondings with Ana. I'm sure you all know that she's the brainchild of ANAGON Collection! Bongga ng wire arts niya, right? It's because she puts so much passion and love to her works. Support Anagon, guys! Every piece is worth it! Love you, Ana! Ang saya lang ng chikahan natin! :)

Here are my purchases from the recently concluded Super Sale Bazaar! Actually, I didn't spend a single centavo with these 'cause my Mom paid for everything (except for the HABI shoes, it was a gift from the Habi Footwear team). Hahaha! Shopping dates with my Mom are always the best! ♥

Shoes courtesy of Habi Footwear. Thank you again, Ms. Janine, for this lovely pair! ♥

On another note, I would also like to thank Ms. Zsa Salazar and Nisce Skin team for sending over these gifts! I can't wait to use them! ♥

Do you love going to bazaars, too? Tell me more about your experiences! I’d love to know! :) Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars – come November 3 and 4, I’ll be participating at the Bazaar For All Season at Centris. I’ll sell my clothes, accessories, shoes and bags there at crazy affordable prices! ;) Hope to see you there!
