Asia Pop Comicon Manila 2016

Exactly a week ago, I entered the SMX Convention Center filled with excitement, as I was bound to attend my very first Asia Pop Comicon! :) I’m not the geekiest girl you’ll meet and I barely have an idea about the characters there, but I had such a great time immersing through this pop culture. Good thing I was with Deo, who’s so much well-versed with this world!

From the press/media area, we saw the long lines of people eager for their tickets. Most are dressed up to the nines sporting their favorite characters. We totally came unprepared, and Deo and I swore to level up our outfits next year!

Our first stop - the Cosplay Authority Global Challenge (The CAGE)! They were down to the last two contestants when we arrived, but happy we got to see all of them for their photo op with the judges - including Alodia Gosiengfiao and Myrtle Sarrosa.

ALL SO AWESOME! I’m pretty sure the judges had a hard time choosing the winners!

We went down to the first floor halls to check out the exhibitors and other events. I totally love how people exerted effort to be in their chosen anime and casts. Case #1: Bumping into Luke Skywalker!

Stormtroopers and Lightsabers everywhere, yay! My boyfriend’s definitely happy because he’s a huge fan of Star Wars!

The Australian College of Hair Design + Beauty also had a booth where they glammed up some attendees.

More action figures like Superman, Gundam and Deadpool!

I love Lego and their area reminded me of my childhood. Look at how they executed a volcanic eruption and this cute fireman with a Pokeball! Lol I tried my best to describe…

Got to see Millie Bobby Brown, too! I love Stranger Things (although it's a totally bad idea to watch it around 2AM, lol Arns)

There were stations for skateboarding, Republic of Gamers, plus a strip for some local and international comic book artists.

I also got surprised to witness a live wrestling act during the event. I think they held one every hour! Lol

We also dropped by the booth of Beyond The Box where they sold digital art by Manix Abrera, Harvey Tolibao and Mervin Malonzo.

Lined up for Loser Mangaka’s crappy drawing! Doesn’t look crappy at all for me! Haha! So amazed how he got to copy the way I wore my denim jumper!

Star Wars shirts + Lightsabers ✓✓✓

Deo and I spent more or less 4 hours roaming around the Asia Pop Comicon! To be honest, I got so overwhelmed with the happenings and I asked Deo a lot of questions along the way. Totally happy and fulfilled, though, that’s why we’re definitely not missing out on next year’s leg.

Congratulations and thank you for having us, Full Circle Comms and Asia Pop Comicon Manila! Everyone had a blast! ♥
